COFALEC member activity : Lallemand stresses the benefits of yeast in the diets of lambs and ewes

During a March seminar for sheep industry professionals, Lallemand exposed the benefits of live yeasts for lambs and ewes. These virtues include better microbiota balance, ruminal pH and fiber breakdown according to one of the company’s engineers.

The benefits are strong for the offspring when the diet is given around the end of gestation. At birth, lambs are stronger and more vigorous when their mothers were fed with live yeast and organic selenium, according to results in the east of France. Their digestion and growth were also better compared to the control groups.
